Queer Writing Evening

17.11.2022 klo 17:0019:00

When? Thursday 17.11. from 5 to 7 p.m

Where? Kvääristö, Kolmas linja 17  Helsinki

What? Gentle history writing as part of “Rainbow history month”. Invisibility of ordinary everyday life and the digital nature of modern times are and will be problems of historical research. Let’s make the job for the future historians a bit easier.

At the beginning of the evening, Iiris and Minna from the The Labour Archives will talk about the project of saving queer histories and archiving. After that, Selma guides a couple of creative writing exercises, after which there will be free writing time.

What is good enough for archives? Basically anything! You can write a short memoir about your life or your thoughts about queer everyday life in the 2020s.

If you want, you can bring queer history materials with you, such as photos, notebooks, letters, event brochures, etc. The material will be handed over The Labour Archives, which will take care of them. During the evening, you are also welcome to part without the pressure of archiving.

Accessibility info will be published on this page later on!

Any questions? Selma Hopsu, tel. 0405236240, selma.hopsu@gmail.com
